The Coronavirus pandemic is continuously striking fear in everyone’s hearts. Aside from the strictly imposed community quarantine, businesses are closing down and people are fearing for their jobs and daily income. However, compared to the frontliners that have been called in line of duty, some of us have it easier.

The country’s frontliners consist of the local police, military enforcement, local government unit’s security task force, health care professionals like nurses, doctors, laboratory technicians, supermarket personnel, pharmacists and brave embalmers.

Since the virus can stay for a few hours in a person’s piece of clothing and can be transmitted through a cough or sneeze droplets, it is highly recommended that everyone practices social distancing and hygienic measures like hand washing for 20 seconds.

If you want to help the country’s frontliners by minimizing the number of transmissions, here’s what you can do as a law-abiding citizen.

Follow Community Quarantine Guidelines

A virus without a host is a dead virus. Even though a community quarantine seems boring, it wouldn’t hurt to obey the government for such strict measures as fourteen days of lockdown ‘causes the virus not to spread. The government even set a date for the mandated quarantine for people to get ready with basic necessities in their homes.

At the same time, children and teenagers should follow imposed curfew. Teens may not fully grasp the idea of a community quarantine and may take the time to roam around thinking everything is okay when it’s not. For the safety of everyone, it would help to stay inside and watch television for the latest updates.

Buying Only What is Necessary

Sad to say, there are individuals who took advantage of this pandemic and hoarded huge amounts of alcohol, face masks and sanitary wipes only to sell for a greater price. The government actually condoned such acts and the Department of Trade and Industry already implemented an act fining those who are caught.

Truth be told, what the community needs is to remember the most basic form of protection, hand washing. Masks are greatly needed by our healthcare professionals. Plus, the alcohol shortage is affecting how healthcare facilities treat patients.

Avoid Spread of Misleading News

Being the bearer of bad news is slightly better than being the source of misleading information. In this chaos and fears, don’t be the one who makes other people feel miserable and hopeless. At this point in time, the social media must be utilized for the dissemination of information.

If you happen to be a person that uses troll accounts and is flooding social media platforms with negativity. You’re not doing your part in helping the country’s frontliners in this pandemic. There are a lot of productive tasks you can indulge such as catching up with television series you haven’t watched for years.

If you happen to be a family member of this country’s frontliners, you can also help them by spreading this article to friends and other members of the community. People who being nonchalant about this situation must be informed about the gravity of this pandemic.
