The cycle of life and death continues. In a blink of an eye, in a sharp inhale and the last spoken words one may have. When death takes its toll, there’s no other way than to succumb to it. In this article, we’re going to reminisce about the last spoken words of famous, influential or prominent people before leaving this world.

Jimi Hendrix

Known for his explosive, magnanimous, and excellent electric guitar possibilities, Jimi Hendrix is considered as one of the most influential and most talented musicians of the 20th century. During his dying hours, he was able to craft a poem with the last sentence written as “the story of life is quicker than the blink of an eye. The story of love is hello and goodbye until we meet again.”

Bob Marley

Famous as the world ambassador for reggae, Bob Marley is the first international superstar to ever sell more than 20 million records during the entire duration of his career. This cemented his legacy as a music icon that emerged from a third-world country like Jamaica. With his dying breath, he imparted a short yet meaningful message, “money can’t buy life.”

Leonardo Da Vinci

A renaissance artist, engineer, and inventor that opened up possibilities of world-shattering physics at large painted the iconic “The Last Supper” and the “Mona Lisa.” This man is none other than Leonardo Da Vinci. For his famous last words, he uttered, “I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have.”

Up until now, the iconic cane, mustache and bowler hat of Charlie Chaplain graces various television shows and video streaming services as a nod for his comic genius. He brought life to the silent-film era and made it is run remarkable, hilarious and colorful. Although he was silent for the rest of the films, he uttered a funny punch-line when a priest read his last rites, “May the Lord have mercy on your soul.” To which Charlie Chaplain replied, “why not? After all, it belongs to him.”

Ernest Hemingway

His undying works of literature and famous titles, “For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, and The Old Man and the Sea,” only proved his ingenuity and his much-deserved 1953 Pulitzer Award. Ernest Hemingway was a wordsmith of his time and in 1954, he won the Nobel Prize. Before committing suicide, he wrote a letter to his wife, with his last words being, “goodnight, my kitten.”

George Harrison

Everyone who has the heart to listen to the classics knows who George Harrison is. He was the lead vocalist of the iconic and influential band, The Beatles. Before bidding his sweet goodbye to the world, he uttered a simple, “Love one another.”
